Request for Proposals for Strategic Planning Consultant

Asian American Organizing Project (AAOP) is issuing a Request for Proposals from qualified individuals or businesses within Minnesota to lead an equity-centered strategic planning process to develop and implement a 3-5 year strategic plan. The total budget available for this project is $10,000 – $15,000.

Background
AAOP is a non-partisan organization led by and for young Asian Minnesotans in the Twin Cities. Through our grassroots organizing efforts and programming, we aim to develop young Asian community leaders to resist oppression and co-create a more just future for their families, schools, communities, and cities. AAOP has approximately six full-time employees and one part-time employee. Strategic initiatives are managed by the Executive Director.

Project Scope
The selected bidder will be responsible for providing an equity-centered strategic planning process to staff members, board members and other stakeholders. The scope of services to be provided will include, but not limited to:

  • Create and propose a project plan with input from stakeholders that articulates AAOP’s mission, vision, goals and action steps
  • Schedule and lead meetings with staff members, board members and stakeholders as needed to capture input
  • Lead a strategic planning retreat with staff and board members to identify and develop priorities, goals, outcomes and a system of measuring progress
  • Draft strategic plan for review by staff and board members, incorporate feedback into revisions and assist with communicating and rolling out final plan

Submission Requirements
Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. Please submit proposals no later than Friday, April 21, 2023 to Linda Lelis-Her, Executive Director at linda@aaopmn.org.
Proposals must include:

  • Bidder’s name, address, telephone number, email address and website.
  • An overview of the bidder’s mission, background and prior experience providing equity-centered strategic planning and facilitation.
  • Description of the approach the bidder will use to provide requested services, including timeline, hours required (of both consultant and AAOP representatives), outcomes and total costs per project.
  • Budget and fee structure for services.
  • Name, title, telephone number and email of three references for clients, whom similar services have been provided, including a brief description of services performed.
