ABOUT US
Beginning 2016, Asian American Organizing Project (AAOP) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization founded to empower young Asian Minnesotans prioritizing LGBTQ+ and women/femme identified to create systems change for an equitable, conscious, and just society. Through a gender justice and critical cultural lens, AAOP addresses issues impacting our young Asian Minnesotan communities through youth participatory action research, grassroots organizing and canvassing, and narrative shift to co-create community change.
AAOP is raising donations to fund a 2-Day Asian Youth Summit that we are hosting in the summer of 2024!
The Summit will serve as a catalyst space for new organizing connections and strengthen existing relationships, develop shared understandings of the intergenerational, Asian political histories, and the current youth struggles, and how to support youth healing and organizing power for change.
Individuals can anticipate intergenerational panel discussions, performances by local community artists, curated workshop that are youth-centered, group activities rooted in body, mind and soul healing, and building new organizing connections, and strengthening existing organizing relationships.
We would be thrilled if you can help us get halfway through our goal and launch our first Asian Youth Justice Summit. Would you be able to donate $25, $50, $100 or $500?
Here's how your support can help make an impact:
- $25 provides a travel stipend for one youth attendee
- $50 provides meals for one attendee for the day
- $100 provides funding for swags, materials, and printing
- $200 supports one youth workshop facilitator or a panel speaker
- $500 supports one youth Summit Committee Leader’s stipend
