Sustainer Program

SustainerProg

The Sustainer Program at AAOP is a new program that invites our community members to contribute to the work we do. If you can’t show up and be present at our events or volunteer time, the Sustainer Program is a good way to be involved.

From the 2018 American Community Survey, only 53% of Asian Americans reported being registered to vote -- compared to a national average of 66.9%. Of those numbers, only 40.6% of Asian American voters voted in 2018 compared to a national number of 53.4% of all registered numbers.

53% of Asian Americans are voters compared to 66.9% nationwide

This means that about half of Asian Americans are gathered in the strategy room, voicing opinions and thoughts, and making decisions. We need to make sure that this table is also inclusive of our voices and that we also have a seat at that decision-making table.

Our work aims to give more young Asian Americans a seat at the table, but we cannot do this without you.

Donations towards this campaign would be dedicated towards increasing AAOP capacity. This means anything from making sure our offices are well stocked of office supplies, ensuring rent is paid, paying artists and guest facilitators to train and perform self-care for our staff, and more.

40.6% of Asian Americans voters voted in 2018 compared to 53.4% nationwide

An increased capacity at AAOP means we’re able to focus more on our programming -- programming that ranges from youth development and fellowships for college-aged adults, to incorporating a gender justice lens in our work and in yours.

As a Sustainer, your monthly financial contribution is considered a tax-deductible donation. Monthly contributions can be of any size. To join as a Sustainer, visit here to contribute now. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@aaopmn.org.
